second.

I am blogging today after having another small film marathon (I'm about to watch penelope - i felt like a bit of predictable romance). I just watched Jane Austen's book club, i'm a bit of a Jane Austen nerd really. All the books inspire me, i love the films also. The costumes. Everything. I recently started a scrapbook, of some kind, that is mostly inspired by Austen's books, and the time. i love aged things, timeless classics, delicate worn lace, stained ribbons, all of this i'd like to incorporate into my scrapbook, and hopefully into my next A-level textiles unit. I think Jane Austen's beautiful choice of words marry well with my love for vintage trinkets and so on. Hopefully I will post some pictures of the book sooner or later. I have to say, i was inspired by the work of Sonja Ahlers also.
Anyway I think I will put on Penelope now, and enjoy the rest of my lazy day.

first.

i thought i would blog. its strangely comforting typing your thoughts down into a blog nobody will read.Today i feel thoughtful. I just finished watching pride and prejudice and atonement. both brilliant films directed by Joe Wright. Atonement makes me burst into tears every time. Its just so beautiful, and very disturbing. The scene at dunkirk really upsets me, to see all those men so fragile from war, it really makes me think about the men in Irag, and so on. I think the hymn that plays along side the scene ("Dear lord, and father, of mankind") fits it so well. Sometimes I just get fed up with the situations some people find themselves in purely down to the selfishness of other men.
However pride and prejudice makes me feel better. Even though I cry at that film too. I love the family of sisters. I think sisterly bonds are very important, even if they are formed between close friends.
Eventually I will perhaps post poems, short writings, maybe art. but for now, i feel like typing. and running myself a bath.
